Barnstormer Winery is a Finger Lakes winery, established in 2013 on 16 acres of property, housed in a 170-year-old renovated barn. We are located on the southwestern shores of Seneca Lake and we provide a personalized, informative wine tasting experience with a quality over quantity mentality. We produce around 3,000 cases of wine annually using 100% Finger Lakes AVA fruit from seven different growers across the region. With a heavy focus on dry red wines and Riesling, we honor site and growing locations through a series of single vineyard bottlings across each vintage. Our winter hours are listed at the bottom of this page.
Due to our small space, we encourage reservations for your visit which you can easily request by clicking above or by calling 607-243-4008 to inquire. Wine tasting flights are $10 for 5 wines. Our winery entrance sign recommends reservations but they are required when we get busy on weekends, or are short staffed. If you are arriving without a reservation on a rainy or snowy day, please first call us at 607-243-4008 to check availability for a walk-in tasting. Wine by the glass is available. We appreciate your patience in advance with our continued Covid-19 policies! We are not taking groups larger than 6 at this time indoors for tastings, or breaking up larger groups into smaller ones. We can accommodate groups of up to 12 guests outdoors on sunny days for wines by the glass or bottle. We look forward to hosting you!

OUR VINEYARD PARTNERS
Sustainable agriculture is a cornerstone of our brand and we have teamed up with seven different growers on Seneca Lake. The Finger Lakes is a very special place, rich with an extensive grape growing and farming history. We intend to do our small part to keep it that way! Each growing site is unique with their own individual micro and mesoclimates, concentrated around the concept of terroir. These Seneca Lake vineyards benefit from the protection (cooling in the summer, warming in the winter) of deep, glacier cut lakes with Seneca having the most moderating impact, with a depth of over 600′. Being a small production winery here at Barnstormer, we have the ability to really focus on precision acreage plantings of different grape varieties. With a heavy focus on Riesling, Cabernet Franc and Blaufränkisch, we have sought out growers who are able to grow exceptional examples of these grapes. We are very proud to work with such skilled and caring farmers and we go to great lengths to ensure their hard work is carried through to produce the best wines we can.
Please request a wine tasting reservation for your next visit! Our tasting room can accommodate a small number of people at this time so reservations are highly encouraged to ensure your spot. Our seated wine tastings usually last about 30 minutes and you may choose from a pre-selected flight list of 5 wines for $10. We are only taking small groups of up to 6 guests at this time. We are not splitting larger groups into smaller groups. Thank you for understanding our mutual responsibility to keep you and our staff safe. Also, don’t forget your masks while exploring our indoor space.
Our three new summer sunshade cabanas are for by the glass and bottle service, which you can reserve for your group up to 12 guests (per cabana) on sunny days. We can reserve these for 1 – 2 hours at a time, upon request with a $25 non-refundable deposit in advance. The cabanas will be closed during the off-season winter months.
We carry a wide range of locally made Finger Lakes cheeses, charcuterie and other goods in our winery retail shop. Our FLX cheese & charcuterie boards are a great addition to your tasting (serves 2 for $14), so please request how many you would like in advance! We are always rotating those fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Check out our events tab for more information regarding tours, events and live music that we are offering. We can do small wedding and rehearsal dinners for up to 80 guests on the winery property, along with hosting most other types of private events after hours.
Please reach out using the contact tab on the top of the page for any additional questions or special requests for your visit. We are family and dog friendly (leashed) and look forward to hosting you soon!
